Dash Navigation Takes Home 'Best of CES' Awards From CNET and LAPTOP Magazine
Dash Express Named Hottest Car Technology, Best GPS and CEA Innovations 2007 Honoree
CES, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 11 -- Dash Navigation, Inc. today announced it won "Best of CES" awards from both CNET (www.cnet.com) and LAPTOP Magazine (www.laptopmag.com) at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas for its Dash Express(TM), the first Internet-connected GPS device. The company was also named an Innovations 2007 honoree by the Consumer Electronics Association.
"We believe the future of car navigation will be based on the core technologies being developed by the Dash team and these prestigious awards validate our approach," said Dash Navigation Chief Executive Officer Paul Lego. "Using our unique two-way Internet connectivity, we can truly deliver on the promise of car navigation -- to help you get around traffic and make it simple to find what you need when you're in your car. We can't wait to get the product into drivers' hands in the coming months as this market is growing so rapidly."
"The success of future navigation devices will rely on their ability to share and receive relevant information," said Thilo Koslowski, vice president, lead automotive analyst for Gartner. "Ultimately, these devices have to be connected to the outside world in order to maximize the benefits for the end user. Consumers are looking for a more holistic navigation experience. We estimate that the demand will continue to grow and that by 2010, navigation devices will surpass 30 million units globally."
