GMAC and Detroit to Promote Financial Education During North American International Auto Show
Series of free GMAC seminars promoting good financial habits rewards participants with tickets and transportation to auto show
DETROIT, Jan. 11 -- GMAC and the City of Detroit are working together to provide free tickets and transportation to the North American International Auto Show to consumers who participate in a free SmartEdge by GMAC financial education seminar.
The SmartEdge seminars provide information aimed at unlocking the mysteries of personal credit and automotive financing. Seminar participants can increase their understanding of automotive financing, the importance of establishing budgets, credit scores and finance rates.
Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is a supporter of GMAC's financial literacy campaign and has arranged for free People Mover passes for those traveling between the two sites.
"Teaching Detroiters how to establish healthy personal finance habits and make decisions that are right for their lifestyle is one of the most important things we can do," said Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. "We are excited to be working with GMAC to bring this valuable information to Detroit residents, and all of our auto show guests."
GMAC will host three one-hour seminars per day on Jan. 13, 15, 17, and 19, at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel located in the GM Renaissance Center.
SmartEdge by GMAC program information is also available online at www.SmartEdgebyGMAC.com. The site hosts video seminars, online tutorials and program workbooks -- all available in Spanish and English for free download.
