Copart Expands in Oregon

FAIRFIELD, Calif.--Copart, Inc. , the largest provider of vehicle salvage disposition services in the United States, today announced the opening of its third salvage facility in the state of Oregon. Located in Woodburn, south of Portland, the new yard is a 29-acre greenfield facility that will help expand Copart’s capacity in the Pacific Northwest.

“The Woodburn location was opened to give us more coverage in Northern Oregon and the southern part of the city of Portland,” said Willis J. Johnson, Copart’s Chief Executive Officer. Copart has existing facilities in Portland and Eugene.

Copart, founded in 1982, provides vehicle suppliers, primarily insurance companies, with a full range of services to process and sell salvage vehicles, principally to licensed dismantlers, rebuilders and used vehicle dealers, through Internet sales utilizing its proprietary VB² technology. Salvage vehicles are either damaged vehicles deemed a total loss for insurance or business purposes or are recovered stolen vehicles for which an insurance settlement with the vehicle owner has already been made. The Company operates 124 facilities in the United States and Canada and is celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year!
