Monrovia Auto Dealer Elected as 2007 CMCDA Chairman

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 8, 2007 -- The California Motor Car Dealers Association (CMCDA) announced that Peter Hoffman is the 2007 Chairman of CMCDA. Hoffman is president of Sierra Auto Cars, Inc., which is a franchised dealer for Honda, Chevrolet, Buick, Subaru, Mazda and Isuzu in Monrovia and an Acura dealership in Alhambra. In addition, CMCDA installed three new Directors.

Hoffman began his career selling automobiles at Sierra Auto Cars, Inc. in 1988. Prior to being recruited into the family auto business, he worked as a lawyer for several years with the law firm Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott. Hoffman received a law degree from UCLA School of Law.

Hoffman graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1972. Then, after working for several years at Hughes Aircraft Company in El Segundo, he earned a masters degree from UCLA in Quantum Electronics.

"I look forward to working with my fellow dealers and directors to continue the great work the California Motor Car Dealer Association has been doing to advance the interest that all Californians have in a strong, innovative and fair automotive industry," said Peter Hoffman, CMCDA chairman. "California faces a number of significant issues in 2007, many of which affect automobile dealers either directly or as a result of the dealers' important contributions to the strength of the economy."

CMCDA's three newly installed Directors include: Randy Denham, S.J. Denham, Inc. of Redding; Bob Hemborg, Hemborg Ford of Norco; and Rick Evans, Huntington Beach Chrysler Jeep of Huntington Beach.

CMCDA's other 2007 Officers include: Denny FitzPatrick, vice-chairman, Fitzpatrick Chevrolet Buick & Hummer of Concord; Gary Shipman, secretary/treasurer, Toyota of Santa Cruz, Inc.; Bert Boeckmann, immediate past chairman, Galpin Ford of North Hills; and Peter Welch, president of CMCDA.
