Get an In-Dash Feel With the Portable Garmin(R) StreetPilot(R) c550

Vehicle Integration Box is the Best of Both Worlds

OLATHE, Kan., Jan. 4 -- Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. , today announced the VIB(TM) 10 for the StreetPilot c550 -- a vehicle integration box that gives portable navigation units a factory feel. The device was announced in conjunction with the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and will be on display at the company's booth (#36212).

"The VIB 10 is an ideal way to utilize your car's audio system for navigation voice prompts, phone calls, and MP3 playback," said Dan Bartel, Garmin's vice president of worldwide sales. "It also reduces cable clutter while still allowing the unit itself to be moved from vehicle to vehicle for maximum utility."

With the VIB 10, drivers can receive navigational voice prompts, phone calls, and stereo-quality MP3 playback through their existing car stereo system. Music is muted when voice prompts or calls come through. Hands-free calling requires a compatible Bluetooth phone. The VIB 10 connects directly to the car's audio and power systems and is mounted out of sight. It replaces the traffic receiver included with the StreetPilot c550 and does not support traffic services. Stereo playback is only possible through RCA connectors (not included), and use of an AUX function on the head unit.

The StreetPilot c550 features a super-bright 3.5-inch touchscreen, Garmin's hallmark easy-to-use interface, travel and entertainment capabilities, spoken street names, pre-loaded maps of North America, a high- sensitivity GPS receiver, and Bluetooth hands-free calling capability.

The VIB 10 kit includes the VIB 10, connectors, and a ball mount adapter with a four-hole AMPS pattern for mounting flexibility. Vehicle-specific mounts are available separately from third party manufacturers to provide an alternative mounting solution. The VIB 10 is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2007 and will be available for a suggested retail price of $149.99. Visit http://www.garmin.com/ for more information.
