Gary Dilts, Auto Industry Leader and Former DaimlerChrysler Executive Joins J.D. Power and Associates as Senior Vice President - U.S. Automotive
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Jan. 4, 2007 -- Gary Dilts, automotive industry leader and former senior vice president, U.S. sales for DaimlerChrysler, has joined global marketing information firm J.D. Power and Associates as senior vice president -- U.S. Automotive.

In his new position, Dilts will be responsible for all U.S. automotive activities for J.D. Power and Associates, encompassing the development and delivery of key financial, organizational and customer business goals, objectives and strategies, both short- and long-term. In this capacity, he will work with U.S. automotive clients, including OEMs, dealers, suppliers, advertising agencies, credit providers, media and publishing companies, Internet companies, consulting companies and other market research firms.

Prior to joining J.D. Power and Associates, Dilts spent 30 years at DaimlerChrysler, where he was responsible for all car and truck sales, dealer development, customer field operations and retail strategies for the company's Chrysler Group. In that capacity, Dilts led and implemented a comprehensive turnaround plan with Chrysler's field and dealer organizations, completing the restructuring of the company's field organization, dealer margins, ad associations and dealer councils. In 2005, Dilts was named as an "Automotive News Industry All-Star" (sales category).
In addition, Dilts served as senior vice president of DaimlerChrysler's eConnect platform, leading a cross-functional team responsible for the strategic implementation of eBusiness initiatives throughout the company, ranging from product creation and volume production to sales and service.
Dilts earned a bachelor degree in business management from the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. He will be based at the firm's Troy, Mich., office.
