EDITOR'S NOTE: This really is a well produced show and it's fun to watch. Best of all, it's produced by our long-time friend and associate Bill Maloney, and the episodes can be seen right here on The Auto Channel.

HONOLULU - January 3, 2007: Hawaii's very own automotive television series, Ohana Road, has received international honors as the 2006 Gold Medallion recipient for “Best of Video” in the International Automotive Media Competition (IAMC). The IAMC is an annual program that recognizes and encourages excellence in all forms of automotive media.

Ohana Road won the “Best of Video” for its “Back & Better Than Ever” episode. “Best of” division winners were selected from Gold Medallion awardees in each division having 98 points or better. The “Best of Video” evaluation criteria included pacing, music, story development, photography, quality of research and quality of editing.

“We are thrilled to receive the 2006 IAMC ‘Best of Video’ award,” said Producer Bill Maloney. “It affirms our commitment to produce top quality programming for our Hawaii viewers.”

The Foundation International Automotive Media Awards honor qualified entries with Bronze (85-91), Silver (92-96) or Gold (97-100) medallions. The highest point earner between 98-100 points in each division receives a Gold medallion and the Best of Division recognition. All entries are judged by their peers.

“We’re very pleased to present the 2006 International Automotive Media Award for Best of Television to Ohana Road TV, its producer Bill Maloney, and sponsor Cutter Motors,” said Walter R Haessner, executive director of the International Automotive Media Competition. “This fast-paced show on all things automotive labels itself ‘entertainment,’ which it is, but under the guise of entertainment Ohana Road is packed with information. Though currently a regional program, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this on national TV in the future.”

Hosted by Dale Payson and Anita Hall, Ohana Road airs every Saturday at 6 p.m. on KITV-4 (ABC-TV) with a repeat broadcast on Sundays at 11 p.m. Regular features include New Cars, Car Mania, Concepts and Classics, Cars N Stars and Bunch of Maloney. With more than 185 shows as it goes into its fourth year, Ohana Road is the first homegrown automotive TV magazine to be aired in Hawaii. It is also aired 24/7 on The Auto Channel, the largest automotive information web site in the world, at www.theautochannel.com. Its title sponsor is Cutter Family Auto Centers.
