Call SoberRide to Get Home Safely During the Holiday Season
WASHINGTON, Dec. 22, 2006; Last year, SoberRide delivered more than 2,600 Washington area passengers safely home during the holiday celebration season. This year GEICO joins WRAP (Washington Regional Alcohol Program), several area employers and local cab companies to again sponsor WRAP's free cab ride program for impaired drivers.
WRAP's 2006 Holiday SoberRide program began Dec. 8 and will continue through Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each evening. "We really want everyone to be safe during the holiday season," said GEICO's Janice Minshall, "and SoberRide is a great way to get people home safely from their celebrations."
Metro area residents, 21 or older, can receive a free cab ride home, up to a $50 fare. Residents can call 1-800-200-8294 (TAXI) or text #8294 (TAXI) on their Cingular phones for the free ride home if they need one.
