When you think of Cadillac - words like quality, luxury and tradition most often come to mind. The 2007 Cadillac SRX full-size luxury crossover SUV embodies all those values, and then some.

The Cadillac SRX is designed to fit the female consumer’s need and desire for a spacious SUV. Size cannot be factored into the drivability because it handles like a smaller vehicle, is effortless to drive and maneuvers with ease.

The SRX shines with an exterior appearance portraying luxury and quality. The exterior sport tire and wheel package features a sports grille playing host to the Cadillac traditional ornamentation. Accompanying the look are dual chrome exhaust tips, front and rear sport fascias and a choice of three wheel sizes – 17-inch, 18-inch and 20-inch. Michelin V-rated all-season black-wall tires are complimented with cast-aluminum and specialty finish wheel choices. There are nine rich exterior paint colors to choose from to complete the lasting impression you wish to leave with others.

Comfort and luxury describe the interior features with several packages and upgrades to consider. The premium seating package includes heated soft leather seating for the driver and front-passenger, plus power lumbar support control for total comfort. Upgrades include heated power-adjustable and driver-side auto-dimming mirrors, and a memory package. The sunroof stretches across the front and back seats, opening the vehicle roof wide enough to embrace the sky.

If seating is where the comfort begins; the experience of driving is where luxury takes over. With dual-zone climate controls, they are a touch away with fingertip controls located on the leather-wrapped steering wheel for both climate control and audio systems. The Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround Sound system, with eight speakers, enhances the driving experience tremendously. The audio system includes AM/FM stereo with in-dash six-disc CD changer, Radio Data System, DVD Navigation System and XM Satellite Radio. You can customize through numerous upgrades including the Entertainment System, Theater Package, Utility Package, V6 Luxury Package, V6 Premium Luxury Package and V8 Premium Luxury Package.

Safety is the #1 priority and the Cadillac SRX hosts safety features throughout the design. Equipped with dual-stage airbags, along with head curtain side airbags for the front and rear, the vehicle also has four-wheel antilock brakes. Armed with front safety belt pretensioners, the vehicle is equipped with head restraints providing added protection in case of impact. With brake- and engine-controlled Traction Control and the StabiliTrak Electronic Control System as standard features, the chance of a fatality accident is decreased dramatically.

Another safety feature important to women is the theft deterrent system and the programmable power door locks. With the automatic lock system, you can be unlocking and lighting up the vehicle as you are walking toward it in a parking lot. Same can be said if you need to place packages in the trunk using the power rear lift-gate.

Safety includes knowing where you are going and how to get there. With the user-friendly touch screen DVD-based navigation system, the Atlas is no longer needed and the aggravation of following one is eliminated. Another standard safety feature impacting night driving includes the interior rearview mirror, which is auto-dimming with an eight-point compass. And when you arrive at your destination and are backing into your parking place, an ultrasonic rear parking feature will let you know if you are close to backing into another object.

“Spaciousness” appropriately describes the SRX. The functional capabilities and versatility is broad, which is very helpful to “women on the go”. The V6 can comfortably transport 5 passengers and the V8 can accommodate 7. For storage space you have versatility in folding seats flat to open up more space for luggage if needed.

Quality is found in the engine design of the SRX V6 and V8. With a 3.6L (V6) and 4.6L 320 Northstar (V8) engines, they are both based on the General Motors’ Sigma platform. It comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission in V6, a 6-speed in V8, and in a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency is found in both the V6 and V8; the V6 is 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway and the V8 is 15 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.

The V6 base price begins at $36,745 giving you the options of customizing the SRX to meet the demands of your busy life. A winner with the public and industry, the Cadillac SRX Crossover SUV has received Car and Driver’s “Five Best Trucks Luxury SUV” award for the past three years.
