DETROIT - December 21, 2006: Energy conservation and high fuel prices seem to go hand-in-hand. However, oil and natural gas are not the only expensive sources of energy – on average, solar powered panels are not economically reasonable for most consumers.
To help drive down these costs and become environmentally-conscientious themselves, some corporations like General Motors are using solar technology. In fact, GM officials say that their California facility has the largest corporate design solar energy system in operation. Environment experts say corporate use of solar panels benefits consumers by driving up demand, increasing the supply and thereby decreasing cost.
