Gregg Castano, Phyllis Dantuono to Share Chief Operating Officer Role at Business Wire
NEW YORK--Gregg Castano and Phyllis Dantuono have been named co-chief operating officers of Business Wire, providing the organizational framework for the company's continued expansion into new geographic, vertical and new media markets, Cathy Baron Tamraz, president and CEO, announced today.
The career tracks of Castano and Dantuono have closely mirrored each other. Both have spent more than two decades with Business Wire, and have worked their way up the sales ranks to senior executive positions with worldwide responsibilities.
Under the new corporate alignment, Castano will exercise responsibility for overall sales strategy and financial analysis. Dantuono will focus on global operations, legal issues, and editorial policies.

Most recently, Castano served as executive vice president, global sales, with responsibility for worldwide sales. Castano joined Business Wire in 1985 as a newsroom coordinator, and later transferred to sales. Castano, who lives in Wilton, CT, with his wife and three daughters, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Fordham University.
Dantuono was previously executive vice president, global bureaus. She maintains Business Wire's editorial integrity on a companywide basis, and was instrumental in formulating news policies and standards. In addition, Dantuono's regional management responsibilities include the New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., offices.
Prior to joining Business Wire in 1986 as an account executive, Dantuono held several positions with The Equity Group, a New York-based investor and financial public relations firm. Dantuono earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications from St. John's University. She is a resident of Whitestone, New York.
