End-of-Year Car Deals Abound ... Not Just on 'Nearly New', but on Brand New Makes and Models Too

COSTA MESA, Calif., Dec. 19, 2006 -- The New Year is fast approaching and according to the experts at NADAguides.com (http://www.nadaguides.com/), that means great deals for this year's holiday car buyers as end-of-year automotive clearance sales kick into high gear.

According to Mark Perleberg, NADAguides.com lead auto expert, not only is this great news for car buyers interested in purchasing 2006 makes and models, but there are tons of great deals on brand new 2007's -- an important fact shoppers should take into consideration during this year's holiday car buying season.

"Because 2006 is coming to a close, people automatically assume the only deals they'll get are on 2006 makes and models," said Perleberg, "but that's incorrect. As dealers close out the calendar year and make room for 2008s -- set to hit showrooms in the spring -- buyers can get some excellent deals on both 2006 and 2007 models alike."

A quick check of the Current Offers and Rebates Tool at the NADAguides.com website reveals significant manufacturer to consumer incentives across various categories, for both 2006 and 2007 model years.

"For example, a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe 4dr 4WD 1500 LS features a $2,000 purchase cash rebate," said Perleberg, "or a 36-month, 3.9% purchase special financing offer. The 2007 version comes with exactly the same purchase cash-back rebate and an identical purchase finance offer."

Even though cash rebates may vary by region and purchase finance offers may vary from buyer to buyer, Perleberg says it's easy to find great deals on both nearly-new and brand new cars, trucks and SUVs this holiday season, if you're willing to do your homework ahead of time.

An important part of that homework, says Perleberg, is the Current Offers and Rebates Tool at NADAguides.com, which was used to compare other 2006 and 2007 makes and models. Following is just a small sampling of those findings:

  -- A 2006 GMC Envoy 4dr Denali comes with a $4,000 purchase cash rebate
or a 36-month, 4.9% purchase special financing offer. The 2007
version comes with a sizeable $1,500 purchase cash rebate and an
identical purchase special financing offer of 36-months at 4.9%.

  -- A 2006 Buick Rainier AWD 4dr CXL comes with a $4,000 purchase cash
rebate or a 36-month, 4.9% purchase special financing offer while the
2007 version comes with a hefty $1,500 purchase cash rebate and an
identical 36-month, 4.9% purchase special financing offer.

"Keep in mind these offers vary from region to region and from buyer to buyer -- and offers differ between purchase programs and lease programs -- but you can see there are great deals for both new and nearly new vehicles across various categories, as well as between brand new and one-year old models."
