MX-5 Cup Teammates Battle at Mosport and Mid-Ohio This Weekend on SPEED
TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 15, 2006) - Tune into SPEED this weekend for some fierce teammate competition, as programming continues for the SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Hankook.
Round Three from Mosport kicks off Saturday, Dec. 16 at 4:00 p.m. (EST). MX-5 Cup powerhouse Team BSI fills the first six grid spots, but Lime Rock Park winner Jim Daniels, of Germantown, Tenn., makes quick work of the squad and by lap five is part of the fight for the lead between BSI teammates Todd Buras, of Melbourne, Fla., and Payton Wilson, of Chantilly, Va., who are both hungry for their first win of the season. With six lead changes and a 0.090-second margin of victory, not one lap of this race can be missed.
Once you've caught your breath, get ready for Round Four from Mid-Ohio at 4:30 p.m. (EST). This time it's the MER teammates going door-to-door for 28 laps. Daniels is once again in the hunt for a win, but this time he must hold off a lightning quick Jason Saini, of Fort Worth, Texas. After a poor start, Saini promptly regains the lost spots and makes mince meat of Daniels' two-second lead, setting the fastest race-lap in the process. Can Daniels hold off his MER teammate all the way to the checkered flag? The only way to find out is to turn on SPEED this weekend.
