FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BREMBO'S NEW CALIPER IS CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER
And It's Ideal for NASCAR's Intermediate Tracks
ORLANDO, Fl., Dec. 14, 2006 - If you are a fan of sports car racing, it's almost a given that
if you think "braking," the second word that comes to mind is Brembo. Founded in 1961,
Brembo entered the racing arena in 1975 at the four corners of the Ferrari Formula 1 car,
and since that time the company has dominated the international sports car scene, supplying
the "whoa" to the "go" of manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Audi, Corvette, Ferrari,
Maserati and Porsche.
For more than 30 years now, Brembo has been at the forefront of the motorsports arena,
winning over 150 world championships, a record that is unprecedented in the industry. But
what is even more amazing is the breadth of Brembo's success. Who would have ever
thought that names like Jimmy Johnson (Nextel Cup), Kevin Harvick (Busch Series) and
Tony Stewart (IROC) would ever be considered Brembo champions? But the vast majority
of the NASCAR drivers in each of these series use Brembo braking systems and
components more often than not to get to victory lane.
Brembo's braking experts are always on the lookout for improved designs that will enhance
performance, quality and durability. And for 2007 they have come up with a new caliper,
which is ideal for NASCAR's intermediate tracks. Some of the significant improvements
compared to the previous caliper include:
Fully integrated fluid passages eliminating the cross-over tube and the outside top
bleeder fitting
Diagonal solid bridge for improved tensional strength for controlled modulation with
varying line pressures
Utilizes a 1.1 in. through 1.25 in. thickness disc
Can be run with wide rubbing surface (2.52 in.) or shallow rubbing surface (2.13 in.)
disc and pad for a wide variation of track applications
Designed for increased stiffness at higher temperatures
Accepts up to a 32 mm brake pad thickness
The strong support and trusted relationships that Brembo has with hundreds of
Championship Winning Race Teams - from Formula 1 to NASCAR - is based on the fact
that Brembo is the industry benchmark. There is no other company or product line on the
market that can match Brembo's level of technology and performance. And if you want to be
racing up front this season with 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson or
NASCAR Busch Series Champion Kevin Harvick, you might want to start off on the right foot
by stopping with Brembo braking systems.
