Advance Auto Parts Reaches One Billion in Commercial Sales
ROANOKE, Va.--Advance Auto Parts, Inc. , a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items announced that the Company has reached a milestone of $1 billion in commercial sales during a single fiscal year, excluding Autopart International stores. In addition, 2006 marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Company’s commercial sales program.
Advance Auto Parts began its commercial sales program in 1996 in the Roanoke, Virginia market. Since that time, the Company has focused on growing the program to meet the needs of Advance’s Do-It-For-Me (DIFM) customers.
As of the end of the Company’s third quarter on October 7, 2006, 2,398 Advance stores operated a commercial delivery program, which represented approximately 81 percent of the Company’s store base; and commercial sales comprised approximately 23 percent of total sales in Advance Auto Parts stores.
