Connaught Electronics Limited has Chosen Texas Instruments' DaVinci(TM) Technology and Digital Media Processor for Automotive Vision Platforms

DALLAS, Dec. 13, 2006 -- Connaught Electronics Limited (CEL) today announced that CEL has chosen Texas Instruments Incorporated's (TI) DaVinci(TM) technology and TMS320DM64x(TM) digital media processors for their new range of single and multi-camera automotive vision systems.

"TI's TMS320DM643x processor based on DaVinci technology offers reduced power consumption coupled with exceptional video, imaging and system control functionality for demanding driver assistance systems," said Jean-Marc Charpentier, DSP platforms manager, TI Europe. "CEL has leveraged TI's technology to create a range of world-class embedded vision systems for the global automotive market."

"CEL selected TI's automotive qualified DM642 and DM643x DaVinci processors as the optimum video processing engine for our Driver Assistance Camera Platform.
