Parkway Chrysler Jeep(R) Becomes National Leading Dealership With New Facility in Clinton Twp. on Hall Road

High Tech Meets Fine Arts and Customer Pampering in 67,000-Square-Foot New Store on Ten-Acre Site for Triple Size Showroom Expansion

Soaring Ceilings, Extensive Glass, Massive Nature Murals, Plasma Screen TVs, Guest Wi-Fi, Kids Play Space, Cafe Style Customer Lounges Set Tone

CLINTON TWP., Mich., Dec. 11 -- Clinton Township's Hall Road M-59 corridor just got a major boost as Macomb County's new shopping destination point with the opening of the new, national leading, 67,000- square-foot Parkway Chrysler Jeep on a ten-acre site, just west of I-94. The prior dealership was in Mount Clemens.

The new Parkway Chrysler Jeep dealership features a unique car buying and servicing experience with amenities not usually found in a dealership. Customers are greeted with soaring ceilings; extensive use of glass, bathing the interior in natural light, massive nature murals, plasma screen TVs, kids play space, guest high-speed, broadband wi-fi; two coffee cafe style customer lounges and attention to architectural detail more likely found in a fine arts store.

"We are redefining the automotive retail dealership in America," Parkway Chrysler Jeep president Chuck Riley said. "This new dealership provides exceptional customer-friendly services and pampering and reflects everything I have learned and wanted for our customers from my 40 years in the car business.

"The new Parkway provides a full line of Chrysler and Jeep products and services in a unique environment, providing such extraordinary services that we can and will earn the position as the number one Chrysler Jeep store in the world," Riley said. "The prior dealership in Mount Clemens was number four in sales volume in 2005, and was on track to be number four in 2006."

"The new Parkway Chrysler Jeep facility demonstrates how Chrysler Group dealers are committed to redefining the role of the dealership as more than simply a building, but an overall enjoyable and inclusive customer-focused experience," said Michael Manley, Vice President - Sales Strategy and Dealer Operations, Chrysler Group.

Riley learned the automotive retail and service business literally from the ground up, starting in 1966 as a porter and "wash boy." He took over the Parkway franchise in 1998 and since then it has grown continuously.

He is known in the industry for his amazingly high level of attention to detail in the customer experience.

A new shopping center -- the first in Macomb County in 30 years -- along with the Parkway dealership and other developments is turning the six-mile stretch of Hall Road into the county's new shopping destination.

The new Parkway Chrysler Jeep includes a 16,000-square-foot showroom, 17,000-square-foot "advanced state-of-the-art" service area with 32 service bays, and two Quick Lube service areas.

The showroom space in the new facility is so large that products are displayed in brand-specific retail areas designed to give the feel of each brand through aesthetics as well as the actual products on the floor. For example, the Jeep area has a more rugged outdoor look and feel consistent with the Jeep brand.

Customers are pampered with two coffee cafe style customer lounges with plasma screen TVs, guest wi-fi throughout the showroom, a glass-walled kids play space; enclosed, hard-wired Internet access work stations for customers seeking privacy while they work, and a warm and inviting environment through the use of colors, extensive use of extra large windows and interior design details; all resulting in an understated elegance.

Service customers get immediate attention in a two-lane, ten-car, enclosed service write-up area. The whole area is glass walled, in keeping with an open feel throughout.

Both the customer service entry area and the 32-bay service area have special, sealed floor treatments as part of a "hospital clean" standard throughout. The service bays even use environmentally friendly, non-toxic vegetable oil in the hoist lifts. Exhaust hoses all go into the floor to eliminate the unsightly dangling hoses from the ceiling.

Service technicians have instant Internet and satellite access to factory repair information in the service bays, advanced vehicle computer diagnostic tools and continuous skills training from factory and other sources.

All Dodge vehicles can also be serviced, including two truck service bays for larger Dodge trucks.

An advanced technology body shop includes new computer directed frame straightening machines to restore damaged vehicles to original factory frame standards, and provide a written "pedigree" with all the exact specifications and results. Downdraft paint facilities provide factory-finish painting once the body work is perfected.

A complete parts department provides instant access to an extensive range of parts from taillights and fuses to complete body panels and engines. Customers can purchase parts "to go" in addition to use in the body shop and service areas.

The new car prep area can ready five vehicles at once.

The new Parkway store is designed for easy expansion as well, including an eventual 100 employees. Eighty current employees moved to the new facility.

Parkway Chrysler Jeep is located at 21560 Hall Road (M-59), Clinton Township, 48038; west of I-94, 586-465-7210, http://www.parkwaycpj.com/ .
