MX-5 Cup Programming Begins
TOPEKA, Kan. (Dec. 7, 2006) - Saturday afternoons just got a little more exciting with the start of SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Hankook programming on PEED.
All eight rounds of the inaugural season will be broadcast Saturday afternoons in December, starting this Saturday, Dec. 9, with Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Lime Rock Park at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (EDT).
Keep your eyes glued to the set for a wild Round One at Laguna Seca that features no less than six lead changes! SPEED World Challenge standout Chip Herr, of Lititz, Pa., leads the field to the first green flag of the season, but an early caution period makes the rest of the race a six-car free-for-all.
Next, stay tuned for Round Two from Lime Rock Park, where polesitter Jim Daniels, of Germantown, Tenn., and Todd Buras of Melbourne, Fla. battle for 34 laps, each eager to capture their first win of the season. Gearbox problems for Daniels play in Buras' favor, but two full-course yellows could level the playing field for everyone.
The inaugural MX-5 Cup season features identical 2006 Mazda MX-5 cars on Hankook tires racing at some of the top road racing events across North America. Turn on SPEED and don't miss a minute of the action. For more information on the series and updates on the 2007 schedule visit www.mx-5cup.com
