Inaugural Duck Award Honors Fallen Biker at the Federated Auto Parts Auto-Rama in Cleveland

CLEVELAND--In honor of late Auto-Rama veteran Roy Duck Schable, the Cleveland Duck Award was created to honor the motorcycle that captures the passion, style and elite craftsmanship that defined the fallen biker. The 2006 Duck Award was given to Cleves, Ohio, native Guy Schaible, whose custom, hand made chopper was built in honor of Roy Schable at the 40th Annual Federated Auto Parts Auto-Rama in Cleveland from March 16-18, 2006.

Duck was a highly respected legend without an enemy in the world, said Cleveland Auto-Rama coordinator, Ron Heitman. After competing in the Cleveland Auto-Rama for many years, he became a judge due to his extensive knowledge of motorcycles and knack for design. Ducks life was ended prematurely when he was hit head on by a drunk driver while riding his bike. The award symbolizes the hard work, talent and energy that he brought to the Cleveland show every year.

Guy Schaibles custom cycle contains hand crafted handlebars, exhaust, air intake, motor mounts and rear fender, giving it a distinct concept look. The frame has a 47 degree rake featuring a Spear front end and extensive body work painted in a brilliant green by Armstrong Designs. With a 127ci Ultima motor with diamond fins, polished G3 carburetor and a chrome 6-speed transmission, this monster has the performance capabilities to match its aggressive stance.

Guy has been competing in ISCA shows for several years and has captured many awards for the motorcycles he designed and built, added Heitman. When he became aware of the Duck Award, Guy specifically built this magnificent bike to take the prize, in honor of Roy Schable.

After rebuilding trucks and modifying various cars as a teenager, Guy Schaible purchased his first motorcycle in 1989. He now devotes his time to customizing motorcycles and building award-winning machines similar to the past creations of Roy Schable.
