"INDIANA SPRINT WEEK" EXPANDS TO 9 RACES IN 2007

The nation's most popular Sprint Car extravaganza is expanding to encompass nine races at nine different race tracks in 2007. The addition of Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville and Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell creates the most ambitious schedule in the tour's 20-year history.

Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon kicks off the 11-night program on Wednesday, July 11. Lawrenceburg Speedway hosts the Thursday, July 12 races, while Gas City I-69 Speedway is the Friday, July 13 venue. Putnamville has been inserted on Saturday, July 14 and the series continues at the Kokomo Speedway on Sunday, July 15.

The final events will unfold starting on Wednesday July 18, at Boswell, Thursday July 19 at Terre Haute and Friday July 20 before concluding with the finale at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt on Saturday night, July 21.

The schedule was finalized during a race organizers meeting held at the USAC offices in Speedway on Nov. 28.

Jon Stanbrough won last year's Indiana Sprint Week championship, scoring victories in three of the five races conducted. Previous Indiana Sprint Week Champions include Kevin Thomas (4), Chuck Amati, Dave Darland, J.J. Yeley and Levi Jones (2 each), plus Cory Kruseman, Tony Elliott, Randy Kinser, Jay Drake, Kelly Kinser, Bobby Kinser and Gary Trammell. Amati and Trammell shared the 1990 crown.

Kruseman is the winningest driver in series history, with 12 victories. Yeley has nine, Darland eight and Stanbrough seven.

USAC coordinator Greg Staab is continuing work on the balance of the USAC National Sprint Car racing schedule, with a planned release scheduled at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in Orlando in December.
