Test Drive Advanced New Clean Diesel Vehicles

     Technology Display to Coincide With Council of State Governments
                 Annual State Trends and Leadership Forum

  WHAT: Join attendees of the 2006 Council of State Governments Annual
             State Trends and Leadership Forum for the opportunity to test
             drive several light-duty diesel vehicles available to U.S.
             consumers. See for yourself why the new generation of diesels
             are clean, quiet, responsive, fuel-efficient and fun to drive.

  WHY: The nationwide arrival of clean diesel fuel means cleaner air
             for all Americans and opens the door for a new generation of
             ultra-clean diesel passenger cars set to hit U.S. showroom
             floors in the near future. And with diesel vehicles' fuel
             efficiency benefit -- 20 to 40 percent greater than gasoline
             counterparts -- consumers can save money at the pump.

             Americans are increasingly turning to diesel-powered vehicles.
             Data compiled recently by R.L. Polk & Co. show that
             registration of diesel passenger vehicles in the U.S. --
             including cars, trucks and SUVs -- has grown a remarkable 80
             percent since 2000.

  WHEN:      Friday, December 1 -- 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
             Saturday, December 2 -- 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  VEHICLES: The vehicles scheduled to be available during the ride-and-
             drive include:

                * Mercedes E320 CDI
                * BMW 535d
                * smart fortwo cabriolet
                * Volkswagen Jetta TDI
                * Volkswagen Touareg TDI

  WHERE: A tent will be set up across from the main entrance at:

             Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort
             7677 North 16th Street
             Phoenix, Arizona 85020

  ABOUT: The Diesel Technology Forum is a non-profit organization
             dedicated to raising awareness about the economic importance
             and environmental progress of clean diesel engines and
             equipment. Forum members represent the three parts of the
             modern clean diesel system: advanced engines, cleaner diesel
