2006 NHRA POWERADE PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE SEASON CONCLUDES
Moorpark, Calif. - (November 30, 2006) With the 2006 NHRA POWERade Drag
Racing Series completed, that also means the Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle
points pause until the bikes return to the track at Gainesville Raceway in
March.
Here is how the top 15 sit heading into the winter months of the off-season:

4. Matt Smith, Buell, 555
5. Matt Guidera, Buell, 520
6. Chip Ellis, Buell, 505
7. Ryan Schnitz, Buell, 500
8. Karen Stoffer, Suzuki, 485
9. Steve Johnson, Suzuki, 470
10. Geno Scali, Suzuki, 465
11. Antron Brown, Suzuki, 460
12. Craig Treble, Suzuki, 425
13. GT Tonglet, Harley-Davidson, 405

There were eight different winners in the 2006 Pro Stock Motorcycle
campaign, with Andrew Hines and Angelle Sampey leading the way with three wins a
piece; Antron Brown, Chip Ellis and Matt Smith each brought home two Wally’s this
year, while Ryan Schnitz, Karen Stoffer and Craig Treble each collected one
win.
A total of eight different riders earned the No. 1 qualifying position and a
check from Ringers worth $1,000 for their efforts. Chip Ellis led the
riders with five top spots this year; Hines, Sampey and Smith each had two; with
Bradford, Brown, Gann and Schnitz each taking one.
Ringers Gloves would like to congratulate Andrew and the entire Vance &
Hines Harley-Davidson team on their third consecutive championship! We’ll see
everyone at Gainesville in March!
Riders accumulate points during their 16-race NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
regular season. The top eight with the most points move onto vie for the 2007
Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle champion bragging rights, held at the Mac Tools
U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.
The Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle winner will take home a cash prize of
$25,000 and a commemorative trophy, while the runner-up collects $10,000. The
two semi-finalists will each receive $6,000 each and the four first round
finalists, $3,500 each, for a total payout of $61,000.
