“2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series ROY Candidate In Midst Of Fierce Testing??

CONCORD, North Carolina (Wednesday, November 22, 2006) - - In an effort to
prepare Florida’s Bryan Silas for the full 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule,
Andy Hillenburg’s Fast Track Racing (FTR) has been busy putting Silas behind
the wheel of the No. 11 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at Lowes Motor Speedway (North
Carolina) and Salem Speedway (Indiana) preparing him for what is expected to
be the most competitive season in ARCA RE/MAX Series competition yet.
“We feel that by allowing Bryan to gather some additional seat time, it will
help him get ready for next season,?? said car owner and former ARCA champion
Andy Hillenburg. “Fast Track Racing is very excited to have Bryan aboard and
we’re looking forward to a great 2007 season.??
Silas tested at Lowes Motor Speedway, just outside of Concord, to prepare
Silas for his experience competing on the superspeedways in the RE/MAX Series.
While the ARCA sanction won’t compete at the 1.5-mile facility, the series
does host several events similar to the speedway which should be a benefit to
the rookie.
“The test at LMS went very well,?? continued Hillenburg who fielded an ARCA
entry for various drivers this season. “The main point of the test was for
Bryan to get comfortable with different scenarios that may be presented next
season. We had very good lap times and I was happy with the turnout. The more
seat time that Bryan receives on the bigger tracks, the better he will become.??

Switching gears, FTR recently tested at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana
allowing Silas to become familiar with one of the most demanding short tracks
included in next year’s 23-race schedule. Silas will make his debut at the
half-mile track for the first of two events next April.
“We scored the Pork pole award in 2005 with Chad McCumbee in his rookie
year, we’re looking to do the same with Silas,?? Hillenburg added. “Salem is one
of the races that can make you or break you next season. We have a spring
race and a fall race. I wanted Bryan to become familiar with its characteristics.
??
During the test, Silas once again showed improvement from beginning to end.
His lap times were very competitive based upon this year’s speeds, proving
that the FTR will be a factor when the team returns to the track next year.
“Salem went really good,?? stated Hillenburg. “Bryan did a good job. He
doesn’t have much experience on the smaller tracks in a stock car, but that is
what these tests are for. I was impressed with the strides we made all day. We
have a shot of backing up our pole run from 2005.??
The driver was equally pleased with his run at Salem. “Man, I love this
track,?? said an excited Silas. “Our laps time improved all day long. You run low
in one and two and your almost hitting the wall in three and four, it was a
blast! I really think that Salem is going to be one of my favorite tracks
and I can’t wait to come back.??
Silas spent the 2006 season getting his feet wet in the RE/MAX Series,
competing in six events at Berlin Raceway, The Milwaukee Mile, Toledo Speedway,
Chicagoland Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway and Iowa Speedway. Silas earned a
best finish of 16th in September at Toledo.

When not competing or testing for FTR, Bryan competes in both the Sportsman
and Limited Late Model divisions at Orlando Speedworld and New Smyrna
Speedway.
Next up for Silas and FTR will be the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship awards
banquet held on December 9, 2006 in Covington, Kentucky. The team plans to
announce their 2007 sponsorship package during the annual team-series press
conference, a prelude to the awards show.
