BEIJING--GlobalAutoIndustry.com, the leading worldwide portal and intelligence source for the automotive industry, and Shanghai KOWIN Automotive Components Co., Ltd, the global sourcing division of Chery Automotive Co., signed an agreement to create the world’s largest B2B automotive sourcing portal. The portal will allow automotive industry buyers and sellers worldwide to interact and do commercial transactions online.
The companies signed the formal working agreement at an official signing ceremony and press conference today, during the Beijing Auto Show in Beijing, China. The companies also announced the name of the portal, "GlobalAutoSourcing." The portal can be visited at www.GlobalAutoSourcing.com. Representatives from all three companies were present at the signing.
“Partnering with KOWIN/Chery puts us in a unique position in the automotive world today. Through this portal, we will be able to put global buyers in contact with the high-quality, OEM grade Chinese suppliers they are looking for,” states Michael DaMour, Sr. VP Global Business Development of GlobalAutoIndustry.com. “Working with KOWIN and their parent company, Chery Automotive, will not only guarantee access to top quality suppliers in China but also provide a high amount of support and value in China’s booming automotive industry. And through the value-added activities, we will also be attracting and helping those Chinese suppliers to invest in the United States as well as other parts of the world.”
The B2B automotive sourcing portal will initially give global automotive buyers access to thousands of qualified Chinese suppliers and will soon expand to include more Chinese suppliers as well as suppliers from several other low cost countries.
“The automotive industry globally is undergoing a profound revolution. Sourcing from emerging markets, especially China, has become imperative for most players in mature automotive markets. But the reality is, there are tens of thousands suppliers in China, with big differences in terms of quality and service capability, which creates big challenges for those global buyers to find the appropriate suppliers in China,” states Mr. Kevin Chen, CEO of Shanghai KOWIN Automotive Components Co., Ltd. “Since KOWIN/Chery has a deep understanding of the Chinese automotive supply market and auto sourcing in China, the portal will accelerate the sourcing process from China.”
The portal will allow global buyers and sellers to interact and do commercial transactions online and post the information they need to do these transactions (RFQ’s, specs, drawings, parts catalogues, etc.). Among the many features, it will also provide information management and emailing capabilities, web meeting capability, security, 24-hour help desk, buyer and seller database, and automotive related information. The portal will also offer numerous value-added activities and "offline" activities such as training, certification, and purchasing events. It will also promote business between China/US and around the world.
