AIAG and SAE of China to Collaborate on Common Standards and Technology
BEIJING, Nov. 20, 2006 -- The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) of China today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Beijing to promote dialogue and collaboration between the North American and Chinese automotive industries in the areas of technology, management and standards development.

The agreement establishes a solid foundation for both associations to work together in support of their members' needs for standardized processes in quality, materials management, logistics and e-commerce.
"AIAG is resolute in working cooperatively with the Chinese automotive industry to advance the development of standard business processes in order to create collective value throughout the global automotive supply chain," said J. Scot Sharland, AIAG executive director. "In this effort, we are excited to partner with SAE of China, one of the most prominent automotive associations in the region, and gain insight into their advancements in engineering and technology."
The MoU will initially focus on channels of communications for sharing information between AIAG and SAE of China.
