INTERMET Announces New Contract

FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 17, 2006 -- INTERMET Corporation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of cast-metal automotive components, today announced the signing of an exclusive supplier agreement with Metaldyne to provide the majority of their cast parts needs through the end of 2007. Metaldyne is a leading designer and producer of engine, driveline, and chassis products.

Steve Lake, President of INTERMET'S Domestic Ferrous Group said, "We are extremely pleased with Metaldyne's decision to use our products and we look forward to continuing our close working relationship. Metaldyne's decision is indicative of our high quality and consistent delivery performance."

These castings will be produced in INTERMET's advanced production facilities at their Columbus, GA Foundry and New River Foundry in Radford, Virginia.
