Toyota recalls 54,200 vehicles over defective engine control system

TOKYO November 17, 2006; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp said Thursday that it is recalling 54,000 passenger cars because of engine problems that led to at least two fires in cars left parked with their engines running.
