Jacobs Receives Wind Shear Inc. Wind Tunnel Contract
TULLAHOMA, Tenn., Nov. 14, 2006 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from Wind Shear Inc. (a subsidiary of Haas Automation) to design and construct the first motorsports 180 mph wind tunnel in North America with a rolling road to test full-scale NASCAR race cars.
The $40 million wind tunnel will be constructed in Concord, N.C.
In making the announcement, Jacobs President Craig Martin stated, "This contract provides an excellent opportunity to advance our support to the motorsport industry. We have worked closely with Haas' consultants to define the testing and performance specifications needed in order to cater to the racing industry, and we look forward to delivering a wind tunnel which will be the first-of-its-kind for the NASCAR community."
