G&R Racing Staged for Balanced Attack at the SCORE Baja 1000

Mesa, Arizona (November 9, 2006) - SCORE rookie sensation, Garron Cadiente, set a blistering pace this year in his first full off road racing season. Earlier this year, he tasted victory amongst the giants of off road racing when he was crowned the SCORE San Felipe 250 Trophy Truck winner. Several weeks later, he backed up his winning performance with a wild run at the BITD Terrible's Town 250. That second win secured him sincere respect from many of the nation's top off road racing veterans.

In mid-season, Cadiente again demonstrated his off road racing talents with a solid fifth place finish at the torturous SCORE Baja 500. Only 6-weeks later, he charged to the finish line at the longest off road race in the United States, the BITD Vegas to Reno race, where he was the first physical Trick Truck to finish, but lost on time to veterans Larry Ragland/Brian Collins.

Slated to run 825-miles himself in this year's edition of the SCORE Baja 1000, Cadiente has prepared for this race like no other in his short off road racing career. Cadiente's regiment not only includes daily extreme physical conditioning, but sincere dedication to extensive prerunning of the race course. Truck builder and professional off road racer, Jeff Geiser, will race a 225-mile section, allowing Cadiente a short break to regroup for the final charge towards the finish line in La Paz.

"This year's course demands respect and we have worked diligently in our prerun efforts. Baja tends to challenge teams in many different ways and our team is poised to implement a strategic plan. Racing the majority of this race in the under the cover of darkness adds another dimension to the Baja1000. Our prerun efforts have included daytime and nighttime excursions and we are ready to roll towards La Paz," commented a smiling Cadiente.

The mystic of the Baja Peninsula has challenged the world's top off road racers for nearly four decades. Racing in front of over 300,000 spectators lining the 1050.8 mile race course from Ensenada to La Paz is a thrill for off road racers. Each year, the course is populated with hordes of off road racing fans, all anticipating the arrival of their favorite racer. Garron Cadiente's popularity continues to grow both among American and Mexican fans as he emerges as one of the nation's top off road Trophy Truck racers.

Driving the #39 G&R Racing Trophy Truck at the famed SCORE Baja 1000 is Ron Whitton. Having completed several different preruns of the race course, Whitton is excited to race in the SCORE Baja 1000. Whitton recently debuted his newly-built Geiser Ford F-150 prerunner while preparing for this race. Whitton raced hard at this year's SCORE Baja 500 and although suffering a rollover in the first few miles, he was able to salvage a respectable finish in 11th place. Whitton captured his first international off road racing victory this season when he won the Pro Desert Racing Rocky Point 250 in Sonora, Mexico. Whitton claimed fourth place honors at the challenging SCORE San Felipe 250.

This year's Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race will be televised on a delayed basis as a one-hour NBC Sports special for the third consecutive year, airing at 2:30 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, Dec. 10 on the NBC Television Network. It will also air on a delayed basis outside of the U.S. on ESPN International.
