Virage Logic and MIPS Technologies Present Technical Webinar for Embedded Consumer Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW & FREMONT, Calif.--Virage Logic Corporation , a pioneer in Silicon Aware IP and leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) platforms, today announced that it will team with MIPS Technologies, Inc. , a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer, networking, personal entertainment, communications and business applications, to present a free online technical webinar titled, Accelerating Silicon Success for Embedded Consumer Applications with MIPS Technologies and Virage Logic Core-Optimized IP Kits. The live webinar will be broadcast via TechOnLine on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. PST, and 1:00 p.m. EST. Registration and information about the free, one-hour webinar is available at http://seminar2.techonline.com/s/viragegr7_nov1606.

Leveraging Virage Logic's Area, Speed and Power (ASAP) Memory and ASAP Logic High-Speed (HS) IP, the series of Core-Optimized IP Kits target the MIPS32® 24K®, 24KE and 34K families of high-performance, low-power processor cores for manufacture on TSMC's 90nm G process. The 24K and 24KE processor core families can achieve clock frequencies of 660 MHz, using only nominal threshold transistors when implemented with the Core-Optimized IP Kits.

The performance benefits of the 24K, 24KE and 34K core families have been greatly enhanced with Virage Logics optimized high speed physical IP, said Pete Del Vecchio, product marketing manager at MIPS Technologies. Were pleased to be part of a development effort that enables our customers to minimize their design time and reduce product costs.

The webinar with MIPS will provide an opportunity for designers to learn how to access the jointly-developed Core-Optimized IP Kits specifically tuned to enhance the performance of MIPS processor cores, said Jim Ensell, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Virage Logic. As the semiconductor industrys trusted IP partner, Virage Logic is committed to providing our customers with integrated solutions to address embedded consumer application challenges.

This webinar is the sixth in a series of eight Virage Logic-sponsored educational webinars addressing timely and critical design challenges facing SoC designers. Each webinar in the series features a different industry-leading company from Virage Logics VIP Partner Program and will provide an integrated approach to helping SoC designers successfully leverage the most advanced technologies available for accelerating their silicon success. About Virage Logic Corporation

Founded in 1996, Virage Logic Corporation rapidly established itself as a technology and market leader in providing advanced embedded memory intellectual property (IP) for the design of complex integrated circuits. Now, as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is a global leader in semiconductor IP platforms comprising embedded memories, logic, and I/Os and is pioneering the development of a new class of IP called Silicon Aware IP(TM). Silicon Aware IP tightly integrates Physical IP (memory, logic and I/Os) with the embedded test, diagnostic, and repair capabilities of Infrastructure IP to help ensure manufacturability and optimized yield at the advanced process nodes. Virage Logic's highly differentiated product portfolio provides higher performance, lower power, higher density and optimal yield to foundries, integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and fabless customers who develop products for the consumer, communications and networking, hand-held and portable, and computer and graphics markets. The company uses its FirstPass-Silicon(TM) Characterization Lab for certain products to help ensure high quality, reliable IP across a wide range of foundries and process technologies. The company also prides itself on providing superior customer support and was recently named Customer Service Leader of the Year in the Semiconductor IP Market by Frost & Sullivan. Headquartered in Fremont, California, Virage Logic has R&D, sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.viragelogic.com.
