Last Race – Woodard Racing collected its second straight top-20 finish with
new driver Damon Lusk last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. After starting in
the rear of the field following a parts failure, the team rallied back
despite handling issues to score an 18th place finish.
New Addition To Woodard Racing: It’s been a big week for driver Damon Lusk.
On Tuesday, Lusk and wife Robin became proud parents of a healthy baby girl.
Daughter Taylor Diane Lusk was delivered at 5:00am weighing in at 6 pounds, 9
ounces. Both mother and daughter are doing great.
Still Searching: With only two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races
remaining, Woodard Racing is hoping that they will score their first top-ten finish as
a rookie team this weekend at Phoenix. The team has proven to be competitive
in its inception year, but obstacles have kept them from reaching one of
their main goals for the 2006 season.
Calling All Sponsors: Woodard Racing is searching for primary and associate
sponsors for this week’s race as well as the season finale at Homestead Miami
Speedway next weekend. The team has exciting and competitive sponsorship oppo
rtunities available. Interested parties are urged to contact Woodard Racing
officials.
Locked In: Thanks to their solid results in their rookie season, Woodard
Racing has been guaranteed to make every NCTS event this season as the team has
maintained a healthy balance in the top-30 in owner’s points. NASCAR rewards
the regulars by locking the top-30 teams in based upon their points earned
throughout the season for their perspective team owners. Currently, Woodard
Racing holds the 26th position in the car owner standings, just a mere 51 points
from the top-25.
PIR Debut: Woodard Racing will make their Phoenix International Raceway
debut this Friday night. While the team is new to the flat-oval, driver Damon
Lusk is no stranger to the desert as he holds prior starts in the Southwest Tour
Series.
2006 Quick Stat: Rolling into Phoenix International Raceway, Woodard Racing
has 23 NCTS starts to its credit. The team has amassed nine top-20 finishes
including a career best qualifying effort of 18th at Nashville Superspeedway
(August 2006).
Did You Know?: Truck owner Rick Woodard was partnered with an ARCA RE/MAX
Series team in 2005 with Boca Bay Racing and driver Johnny Leonard. The team
ran the entire ARCA schedule, collecting three top-ten finishes and a
respectable tenth place in the final championship standings.

going to give Rick (Woodard, truck owner) 150 percent.??

tracks he will do very well at. We’ve learned a lot from him and he works well
with the team, so I’m happy.??
On The 2006 Season: “It’s no secret we’ve had our fair share of ups and
downs this season. We’ve had some good runs spoiled by bad luck. But, with
every event we enter to give our best and try to win. Overall, it’s been a solid
season for the Woodard Racing team. Now, if we can grab a top-ten finish, I
think we can put the final checkmark next to our goals.??
