Geodetic Systems to Host V-STARS International User Group Meeting
on January 24-26, 2007 at the Melbourne Beach Hilton in Melbourne, Florida
Metrology Professionals from Around the World Convene for Single Largest
Gathering of Photogrammetry Users
Melbourne, FL -- November 6, 2006 -- Geodetic Systems, Inc (GSI), a
leading provider of portable 3D coordinate measurement systems,
announced today the company will host its 5th International V-STARS User
Group conference at the Melbourne Beach Hilton, in Melbourne, Florida on
January 24-26, 2007. V-STARS users, value-added resellers, and global
distributors from the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia
will join Geodetic Systems to learn about the latest advances in
non-contact measurement technology and industrial photogrammetry. GSI
exclusively develops and markets the V-STARS photogrammetry systems used
by manufacturers and scientists worldwide. V-STARS measurement solutions
are used to capture high precision measurements in the most demanding
settings (inside or outside), where variable conditions like vibration,
movement and temperature are major roadblocks for other metrology devices.
John D. Brown, president of Geodetic Systems, Inc., will discuss the
company's vision for future research and development of industrial
photogrammetry. Gary Johanning, Vice President, will moderate the
three-day event and officiate during productivity-based events such as
round tables, presentations, business building activities, and Q & A
sessions. Geodetic Systems is renowned as the leading solution provider
in the field of industrial photogrammetry.
V-STARS is utilized for 3D coordinate measurement and inspection
applications in diverse industries such as aerospace, automotive,
shipbuilding, power generation, antennas, and space hardware, and more.
GSI will conduct workshops to demonstrate their state-of-the-art INCA3
photogrammetric camera, which merges a proven ultra-high-resolution CCD
sensor with a powerful, compact PC-based computer. The high precision
camera is best suited for in-place measurement and inspection of large
objects. The workshops will also cover Automated Repeatability
Measurement (ARM) software and the PRO-SPOT target projector, which
generates fast, accurate, dense, non-contact measurements on large
surfaces such as molds, master models, panels, antennas and other
components.
Attendees will get a personal copy of GSI's informational DVD featuring
live video of their V-STARS technology in action at customer sites. For
more information on GSI's 2007 International User Group, please contact
Russell Morrison at 321-724-6831.
What is Metrology? What is Photogrammetry?
The science of measurement is known as the field of metrology.
Engineers, manufacturers, scientists, and quality control technicians
utilize measurement technology in their own unique disciplines.
Photogrammetry is a three-dimensional coordinate measuring technique
that uses photographs as the fundamental medium for metrology. GSI
offers the most comprehensive product line based on industrial
