JAMA announces the publication of its annual information booklet 
on safe and smart driving titled "Safety Car Life 2006-2007" - A 
Handbook for Motorists.

Update 2:
Japanese Automakers' 2006 Overseas Production Statistics 
[Second Quarter and First Half Cumulative] 
+---------------------------------------------------------------+

Overseas vehicle production by Japanese automakers in the second 
quarter of 2006 totalled 2,691,065 units, a decrease of 1.3% over 
the same quarter in the previous year.  This is explained primarily 
by decrease of overseas production in the North American, Asian and 
other markets.

Update 3:
Assisted-Mobility Vehicle Sales in Japan in 2006 
~First Half of Fiscal 2006 (April-September)~
+---------------------------------------------------------------+

Sales of "assisted-mobility" motor vehicles in Japan during the first 
half of fiscal year 2006 (April-September) totaled 19,483 units, a 
decline of 1.5% from the same period in the previous year. While sales 
of mini-vehicles and buses in this category performed above the first 
half of fiscal 2005, small-size vehicles finished slightly below the 
level last year.
