INCAT(R) Provides Production Engineering for Components of 2007 Williams F1 Race Car

Company also will provide design work on transmission test rig

DETROIT, Nov. 3 -- INCAT(R) announced today that it is engaged with the Williams Formula 1 racing team on two projects involving production engineering and design work for the team's 2007 race car.

In an October 1 interview published in Autocar Professional magazine, Alex Burns, Chief Operating Officer - Williams F1, talked about the engagement.

"INCAT is engaged on two projects. The first is production engineering of some elements of the 2007 race car. We redesign a complete car every year where about 98 percent of the components are new. We are in the design phase of that car now and INCAT employees in Pune, India, will production-engineer some of the parts we are designing," Burns said.

The second project is design work for a new transmission test rig, according to Burns. "A Formula 1 car will do 4g lateral acceleration in cornering and up to 5g acceleration in braking. This can cause problems with the ongoing lubrication of the gear box. We test this on an articulated rig which is a sophisticated piece of engineering," he said.

The choice of INCAT was a result of two key factors, according to Burns -- expertise and cost. INCAT has the skills needed to execute on the Williams F1 projects and, through its unique Global Delivery Model, is able to execute more cost-effectively than other resources available to Williams F1, he indicated.
