WHAT:              

More than 130 cars and drivers from around the world will invade
Infineon Raceway for the 10th annual INEX Legends Car Road Course World
Finals.

 

WHEN:             

Friday-Saturday, Nov. 10-11.

CIRCUIT:          

12-turn, 2.52-mile road course.

 

SCHEDULE:         

FRIDAY:  Two rounds of practice beginning at 8 a.m., with two rounds of
heat races scheduled to begin at 12:05 p.m. Each heat race will span
five laps.

SATURDAY: Early-bird practices at 10 a.m. Feature races begin at 11:45
a.m., with each race spanning 11 laps. 

ADMISSION: Parking and admission are free. Gates open at 7 a.m. each
day. All times PST.

 

TYPES OF CARS:           

These five-eighths scale cars feature five-speed, 1250cc Yamaha
motorcycle engines, which can reach speeds up to 120 mph on the Infineon
Raceway road course. Racing will be featured in four divisions:
Professional (drivers with racing experience); Semi-Pro (drivers with
limited racing experience); and Masters (40 and older).  The weekend
will also feature championship competition in the Thunder Roadster
class.  

    

LOCAL COMPETITORS:   

Local entries will include Vallejo's Phil Joy, Livermore's Steve Wilson,
Elk Grove's Chuck Scott, Suisun's Skip Brown and Sacramento's Steve
Fensler Jr.   

 

2005 EVENT WINNERS:         

Jeremy Christensen (Pro, Laramie, Okla.); Martin McKeefery (Semi-Pro,
Milpitas); Mike Rard (Masters, Stillwater, Okla..); Randy Raduechel
(Thunder Roadster, Oakdale).

 

WHAT TO EXPECT:                  

The weekend will feature more than 130 local and international drivers,
with competitors from as far as Scotland and England.  Local favorites
include Sacramento's Steve Fensler, who heads into the weekend tied for
first in the Professional division points race with Oklahoma's Bobby
Pugh. The event will once again feature the World Legends Cup Team
Challenge.  This unique event will pit an equal number of international
drivers against drivers from the United States with the Team Challenge
Trophy at stake. The team champion will be determined by tallying the
number of points the drivers earn in their respective classes. This will
be the fourth year of the World Cup Team Challenge at Infineon Raceway.
The Americans took home their first World Legends Cup victory in 2005.
