MILWAUKEE MILE APPOINTS ARAS PROMOTIONS TO MANAGE 2007 MISS MILWAUKEE MILE
CONTEST AND MILWAUKEE MILE GRID GIRLS PROGRAM
MILWAUKEE (October 31, 2006) - The Milwaukee Mile has announced that it has
retained Aras Promotions, led by its President, Sara Gilliame, to manage its
2007 Miss Milwaukee Mile contest and Milwaukee Mile Grid Girls program.
Gilliame recently formed her own marketing and promotions agency, Aras
Promotions, after successfully working with Brown-Forman as a marketing
executive, managing promotions for Jack Daniel's, Finlandia Vodka, Southern
Comfort, Woodford Reserve and Tuaca, among other brands.
She oversaw the inaugural Miss Milwaukee Mile and Grid Girls programs last
year for the historic speedway, and intends to significantly enhance and
expand both programs in 2007.
"I am delighted to be working with The Milwaukee Mile on these marketing and
promotional programs," Gilliame said. "I believe last season's inaugural
efforts were highly successful in promoting The Milwaukee Mile to a new
demographic. The 2006 Miss Milwaukee Mile contest generated almost 1,000
entries, and The Milwaukee Mile Grid Girls reached thousands of people
throughout Wisconsin, promoting The Mile and many of its marketing
partners."
The Milwaukee Mile is the world's oldest active speedway, with auto racing
events dating back to 1903. With the rich racing tradition as its
foundation, Milwaukee Mile Marketing LLC became the new Milwaukee Mile race
promoter on January 1, 2006, bringing forth traditional and non-traditional
marketing methods to attract a growing motorsports audience. With these new
initiatives, The Mile saw an increase in attendance over the previous year
at each of its major spectator events in 2006.
"We were very impressed with Sara's ability to cultivate, motivate and
organize two significant start-up marketing initiatives for The Milwaukee
Mile last year," commented Jim Westerman, Milwaukee Mile Vice President of
Marketing. "We're excited to have Aras Promotions back to work with us in
expanding our 'Mobile Mile' marketing efforts, which are key to our overall
marketing campaign."
Aras Promotions focuses on consumer-focused event marketing and promotions,
and along with The Milwaukee Mile, has retained Brown-Foreman, with
additional clients including Press Cocktail Soda, and other beverage
companies.
Among it's diverse offerings of world-class auto racing, The Milwaukee Mile
in 2007 will host NASCAR and ARCA RE/MAX Series stock car events, plus the
return to tradition with the stars of the Indianapolis 500 returning to The
Milwaukee Mile on Sunday, June 3rd, the Sunday following the "500."
