PPG Increases North American Industrial Coatings Prices

PITTSBURGH--The industrial coatings business of PPG Industries is raising prices effective Dec. 1, 2006, or as permissible by contract, for products in North America such as liquid, electrodeposition and powder coatings.

PPGs industrial coatings business continues to experience raw material cost increases, said Matt Marek, general manager, PPG industrial coatings. These elevated costs are projected to continue for the foreseeable future.

PPGs price increases will affect all categories of its industrial coatings and be determined by product lines and geography. Sales representatives will communicate details to their customers in the auto parts and accessories, agricultural and construction equipment, coil, extrusion, wood and other industry segments.

Pittsburgh-based PPG is a global supplier of coatings, chemicals, optical products, glass and fiber glass, with 110 manufacturing facilities and equity affiliates in more than 20 countries. Sales were $10.2 billion in 2005.
