Analog Devices’ Vice President to Be Featured at MEMS Executive Congress

NORWOOD, Mass.--Analog Devices, Inc. , a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications, today announced that William Giudice, vice president and general manager for ADIs MEMS-based products, will be featured on a consumer electronics panel at the annual MEMS Executive Congress to be held November 5-7, 2006, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mr. Giudice will join other key executives to explore how advancements in MEMS performance, reliability, and cost structure is enabling the rapid adoption of MEMS technology for countless consumer applications, particularly with respect to the use of MEMS-based motion sensors.

Already common-place in automotive safety as the motion-sensing element in airbags, MEMS-based motion sensing is poised to expand into a host of new markets. Motion is an integral part of our lives, and MEMS-based motion sensing is significantly changing the user experience within a wide range of portable electronic devices. Tiny, reliable, low-cost MEMS motion sensors are on the verge of transforming the way consumers use mobile phones, media players, video games, cameras, and computers. Today, ADIs iMEMS® Motion Signal Processing technology is used to protect notebook computer hard drives from damage due to being dropped; helps users of digital still cameras, camera-phones, and camcorders take better pictures by compensating for unwanted movement; adds functionality and power saving features to mobile phones; eliminates keystone effects from digital projectors; and the growing interest in MEMS motion sensing will continue to open up many new design possibilities for countless high-volume consumer product applications.

About MEMS Industry Group

MEMS Industry Group (MIG) is the trade association representing the MEMS and microstructures industries. The Association enables the exchange of non-proprietary information among members; provides reliable industry data that furthers the development of technology; and works with legislators, policymakers and others toward the greater commercial development and use of MEMS and MEMS-enabled devices. MIG is comprised of over 70 member companies. For more information, visit www.memsindustrygroup.org.

About Analog Devices iMEMS technology

As a pioneer in the micromachine IC industry, ADI produced the first fully-integrated, single chip iMEMS® (integrated Micro Electrical Mechanical System) accelerometer in 1991. Since then, ADI has maintained a leadership position and remains the industrys only producer of high-volume, single-chip iMEMS accelerometers/gyroscopes and continues to be the leading supplier of airbag sensors worldwide with shipments of more than 250 million units to date. ADIs iMEMS Motion Signal Processing technology is used in a wide range of consumer, automotive and industrial product applications. For more information visit www.analog.com/iMEMS.
