Line clinches PS championship, finishes runner up at ACDelco Nationals

LAS VEGAS (October 29, 2006) - After clinching the 2006 NHRA POWERade
Pro Stock Championship in the semifinal round, Jason Line drove his KB
Racing LLC-owned, Summit Racing Equipment-backed Pontiac GTO to a runner
up finish at the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals

The Minnesota-born, North Carolina-transplant Line defeated three former
NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champions - Warren Johnson, Jeg Coughlin, and
Greg Anderson - en route to the final round.

In the semifinals, Line was paired against Anderson's KB Racing LLC /
Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock Pontiac GTO. At the start they both
left with near identical reaction times but at the finish line it was
Line turning on the win light.

Line crossed in 6.751 seconds followed by Anderson in 6.773 seconds.
The win locked up the NHRA POWERade Championship for Line.

In the final round Line left late against Richie Stevens, Jr. and ran
out of track before he could catch Stevens. Stevens crossed the finish
first in 6.789 seconds, followed by Line who ran a 6.735-second pass.

"I had the worst year driving and lost again tonight because I wasn't as
focused as I needed to be," said Line. "I plan to work on this and by
the new season you'll see a new Jason Line behind the wheel. It sure
was anticlimactic after winning the championship but winning the
championship was cool."

Line ran low elapsed time (6.705 seconds) and top speed (204.94) of the
event. Both were track records.

As the teams head to Pomona, Line leads the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock
point standings with 1,689 points, followed by Greg Anderson in second
with 1,547 points (-142) and Dave Connolly in third with 1,399 points
(-290).

Next Race: The season-ending 42nd annual NHRA Auto Club Finals takes
place at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona (Calif.) November 9-12.
Qualifying takes place on Thursday and Friday will one session each day
and concludes with two sessions on Saturday. Eliminations get underway
on Sunday.

Television: ESPN2 / ESPN2 HD will air same-day television coverage of
eliminations from the NHRA ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals from 8 until 11
p.m., tonight (Oct. 29). The elimination show repeats early Monday
morning (Oct. 30) from 2:30-4:30 a.m. Television times are Eastern Time
