HIGH WINDS BLOW COMPLETION OF THUNDER VALLEY'S LUCAS OIL EVENT

NOBLE, Okla. - NHRA South Central division Lucas Oil Drag Racing
Series competitors returned to Thunder Valley Raceway today to complete the
event that rained out Oct. 17. Qualifying had been complete the first two
days of the originally-scheduled weekend but rain on the 17th forced NHRA
and track officials to reschedule eliminations.

Although today's action was delayed several hours in the morning due to high
winds in the area, nearly all of the 11 classes in competition finished
first round of eliminations and the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol
Funny Car classes are down to the finals. Because track officials have a
previously-scheduled event set for Saturday, eliminations for the NHRA Lucas
Oil Drag Racing Series will continue on Sunday at 9 a.m.

The final round of Top Alcohol Dragster will feature Oklahoma City's Brandon
Pierce against reigning West Central division champion Randy Meyer of Spring
Hill, Kan. And Top Alcohol Funny Car pilot Kebin Kinsley of Kennedale,
Texas, will take on Gainesville, Ga., resident Steve Harker.

Gates open at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Thunder Valley Raceway. For
more information call the track, (405) 872-3429.
