Briggs & Stratton Corporation Elects Director

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 27, 2006 -- Briggs & Stratton Corporation :

The Board of Directors of Briggs & Stratton Corporation has unanimously elected Keith R. McLoughlin a director of the company effective January 17, 2007. Mr. McLoughlin succeeds Jay H. Baker, who recently retired from the Board, and will serve as a member of the class of directors whose terms of office expire in 2008. Mr. McLoughlin is President, Electrolux Home Products, North America & Latin America.
