2007 Porsche Boxster, Cayman and 911 Earn Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted Awards
ATLANTA--Edmunds.com, the premier online resource for automotive information, today named its 2007 Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted Vehicle awards, and Porsche won in four categories:
Vehicle | Category | Award History
2007 Porsche Boxster | Convertible under $60,000 | First-time winner
2007 Porsche Cayman | Coupe under $60,000 | First-time winner
2007 Porsche 911 | Convertible over $60,000 | First-time winner
2007 Porsche 911 | Coupe over $60,000 | Two-time winner |
In selecting the 2007 Porsche Boxster, Edmunds.com’s editorial staff proclaimed it to “carve up canyons like nothing else on the road.” The 2007 Porsche Cayman was chosen by Edmunds’ for being “a pure sports car that can hold its own against exotics twice the price” while the 2007 Porsche 911 was selected because it “delivers the complete package.”
"The Editors' Most Wanted winners provide class-leading performance, quality, style and value," said Karl Brauer, Editor-in-Chief at Edmunds.com. "These are the vehicles that our editorial team would chose to have in our own driveways."
Peter Schwarzenbauer, president of Porsche Cars North America, was gratified that Edmunds.com’s editors voted Porsche winners in these categories, and pointed out that people sometimes miss the relationship between cost and value.
“Value includes the wholesale and retail price of the car two, four, and six years into ownership, and the editors recognized that Porsches retain a high percentage of their new-car value while many cars, in particular sports cars, suffer steep depreciation after only a few years,” he said, noting that Edmunds.com’s reputation for determining fair values for used cars enhances the credibility of these awards.
The Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted Awards have been awarded annually since 1999. Winners are named for the Most Significant Vehicle of the Year and each of 33 market-relevant categories.
