Preh Celebrates Finalist Status in 2007 Automotive News PACE Award Competition

NOVI, Mich., Oct. 23, 2006 -- Preh is a finalist in the prestigious 2007 Automotive News PACE Award competition. The 13th annual PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence) Award is presented by Microsoft, SAP, Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC Inc.) and Automotive News.

Preh was recognized for its Preh-PVD (PVD = Physical Vapor Deposition) technology. This plastic finishing technology for backlighting applications is entirely new to the automotive marketplace, allowing Preh to produce a wide variety of interior controls -- knobs, buttons and panels -- that have the look and feel of metal parts. Not only do they have a high-quality appearance, but they are produced by a process which allows designers more flexibility in choosing colors and creating more stylish designs for their backlit control panels and systems.

Recognizing superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance, the Automotive News PACE Award is open to suppliers that contribute products, processes, materials or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks. The award is accepted around the world as the industry symbol of innovation.

Preh is a finalist in the Manufacturing Process and Capital Equipment category which recognizes innovations involving game-changing processes (manufacturing or business) or innovative capital equipment that support the automotive supply chain or manufacturing processes.

The Automotive News PACE Award also recognizes suppliers' superiority in three additional categories: Product, Product-Europe, Information Technology and Services.

Preh, along with other Automotive News PACE Award finalists, will undergo an extensive review process -- including a site visit -- by industry, academic and business leaders to select award winners, to be announced during the 2007 Society of Automotive Engineers conference in Detroit at a gala ceremony at the Max M. Fisher Music Center on April 16.
