Guy Cosmo And Mazda “Home” For American Le Mans Series Season Finale

Guy Cosmo and the B-K Motorsports team come “home” with the Mazda
powered Road & Track / Kumho Tire #8 LMP2 car this weekend as the
American Le Mans Series wraps up their season at Mazda Raceway Laguna
Seca. The Salinas California track is the spiritual home of Mazda and
Mazda racing.

“We’re very excited to get back on track at Mazda Raceway Laguna
Seca,” said Guy Cosmo. “This is by far one of my favorite tracks,
and our #8 Mazda / Road & Track / Kumho Tire LMP2 car is definitely
one of the most exciting cars you can drive around this place.”

The season finale for the American Le Mans Series has quickly earned
its place as a fan and driver “favorite” since the race became and
extended four-hour event racing through the hills of this legendary
track and in the evening twilight.

“Jamie [Bach] and I are really looking forward to the 4 hours of
racing around Mazda’s spiritual home,” Cosmo continued. “We’ll be
gunning for a podium finish. Last year we finished 3rd at this
event, just 20 seconds out of 2nd place. Mazda Raceway is also where
Jamie and I captured the Rookies of the Year award for 2005 as well.
We truly like being here.”

The season finale is more than just a four hour race at the track.
The team has been active throughout the week participating in
promotional events in the area.

“I’ve had a lot of fun already with the promotional events we were
doing this week to generate awareness and interest in the American Le
Mans Series and this weekends finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,”
noted Guy. “Tuesday we had a Klein Tools pit stop competition
demonstration in downtown San Francisco. It was very well-attended
and televised by the local news. Then Wednesday we were in downtown
San Jose driving the race cars through the streets, signing
autographs, meeting fans... it was great.”

Continuing with his “fan appreciation” campaign, fans attending this
week’s race and autograph session will be treated to Guy’s official
poster and 2007 calendar. Just stop by the B-K Motorsport Mazda
transporter and pick one up.

The race begins at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, October 21 and continues for 4
hours into the twilight. The race will air on SPEED.
