Rookie winner of Touring Car 2005 Season Finale John
Angelone Available:
Proven winner seeks seats in SPEED World Challenge and
Grand Am for 2007 season

Bridgewater, New Jersey (October 20, 2006) With the
final round of the SPEED World Challenge this weekend
at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, it’s an appropriate time
to mention John Angelone.

Road racing fans will recall that Angelone was the
wild card rookie who blasted past seasoned veterans
and earned his first SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World
Challenge Touring Car victory during the 2005 season
finale at the Monterey Sports Car Championships.
Piloting the No. 19 Pit Bull Energy Drink/Stand 21
STaSIS Audi A4, John left the rest of the field behind
and won the 26-lap race by 5.214 seconds.

“At Laguna, I was under a lot of pressure going in,”
says Angelone. “It was the team’s first race running
three cars, and I had two quick teammates in Freddie
Baker and Memo Gidley. I ran identical equipment to
them, so I had to perform - especially since my
wallet was running empty.

“I knew I had to come into the World Challenge and
make a statement, especially since the series is
pretty much dominated by three or four drivers with
the rest of the field not far behind.”

STaSIS Motorsports team owner Paul Lambert was
impressed with Angelone’s performance especially since
it was only his third time in a sedan. Lambert knew
his young driver possessed natural, raw driving talent
derived from years of open wheel experience. Angelone
holds numerous karting championship titles. It’s not
always easy, however, to transition from open wheel
cars to sedans, and driving maturity is something that
usually evolves over time.

“The Laguna Seca win demonstrated maturity, something
rare in young drivers,” says Lambert. “John knew when
to take risks and when to hold back.”

Passionate about racing and determined to make his
mark in the world of road racing, 21-year-old Angelone
is actively pursuing rides in SPEED World Challenge
and the Grand American Rolex GT Series for 2007.

“I’m working very hard to put together a full Grand
American Rolex GT ride and a fulltime SPEED World
Challenge ride,” says Angelone. “I love the World
Challenge. I got my first professional win there in
only my third event in a sedan, and the competition is
great!”

In 2006, Angelone participated in a couple one-off
rides with different Grand Am teams, and snagged a
three-ride gig with Maryland-based TPC Racing. TPC
Racing was the team that took home the coveted 2006 24
Hours at Daytona Championship.

Why should teams consider John?

“I am a perfectionist first and foremost in anything I
do,” says Angelone. “I love competing, meeting
challenges and pushing and exceeding the limits. Not
only am I fast, but I have a very good technical
understanding of how cars work.”

He adds, “I’m fearless and willing to take necessary
risks to fulfill team goals, and, most importantly,
I’m hungrier than anyone else.”

So, if you’re looking for a young, marketable,
talented driver and proven winner, one who’s hungry to
win, John Angelone is your man. Contact John by phone
