The NAIAS 2007 Charity Preview will take place Friday, Jan. 12, at Cobo Center in Detroit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets for the event are $400 each, of which $390 is directly tax-deductible. For more information on the NAIAS 2007 Charity Preview or to purchase tickets, call (888) 838-7500.

"Last year, we were happy to share the spotlight with the Super Bowl, but this year, the annual NAIAS and Charity Preview stand alone as Detroit's premier event," said Robert Thibodeau Jr., senior co-chairman for the NAIAS 2007. "Because we are celebrating our 100th anniversary of the first auto show in 1907, we are seeing a significant increase in the demand for Charity Preview tickets."

Each year, the Charity Preview and the NAIAS host many local, national and worldwide celebrities. In the past, Kevin Bacon, Kid Rock, Celine Dion, Jay Leno, Eva Longoria, Tony Danza, Steve Harvey, Angie Harmon, and Jeff Daniels have attended the NAIAS. As automakers prepare for the national spotlight, they are prepared to bring even more celebrity power this year.

Beneficiaries of the 2007 Charity Preview include: Barat Child and Family Services; Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan; Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit; The Children's Center; Judson Center; Children's Services of Northeast Guidance Center Assistance League; The Detroit Institute for Children; Think Detroit PAL; Easter Seals - Michigan; March of Dimes; and the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

"We are very proud of the impact made on this community by Charity Preview," said Thibodeau. "We have already raised over $64 million for the children and young adults in our community since our first international show in 1989, $33 million of which was raised in the last five years alone, and through the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund, we have been able to extend that reach to even more charities."

100th Anniversary

In 2007, the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), formerly known as the Detroit Auto Show, celebrates 100 years in Detroit. Established in 1907 by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, the show has grown from a regional event featuring 17 exhibitors to an internationally-sanctioned show with over 90 exhibitors, adding more than $600 million to the metro Detroit region last year alone. With the support of the DADA, the NAIAS features more new vehicle debuts and garners more media coverage than any show in North America.
