BlackJack Racing; Bean Add Memphis NASCAR Busch Series Race To 2006 Schedule

BlackJack Racing; Dexter Bean Add Memphis
NASCAR Busch Series Race To 2006 Schedule
MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Thursday, October 19, 2006) - - BlackJack Racing
officials announced today the addition of the NASCAR Busch Series race from Memphis
Motorsports Park to promising ARCA rookie Dexter Bean’s 2006 racing
schedule. Bean will attempt to make his NBS debut in next Saturday’s Sam’s Town 250.
Bean, a native of Westby, Wisconsin heads to Memphis coming off a successful
rookie season in the ARCA RE/MAX Series. The driver of the No. 6 Five Star
Telecom Chevrolet was one of the hottest drivers on the tour in the last four
races collecting one pole, one top-five and three top-ten finishes.
Now, Bean plans to gain valuable experience for the next stepping stone of
his career competing inside the NASCAR ranks.
“I’m very happy that we’re heading to Memphis,?? said Bean, who also scored
three top-ten finishes in three NASCAR AutoZone Series starts this season. “
Our BlackJack Racing team is heading into the race with some momentum on our
side and we’re hoping to keep that streak going.??
Memphis Motorsports Park, a short track on the NBS tour fits right in with
Bean’s past racing experience. Hailing from the state of Wisconsin, the
young-gun has grown up surrounded by several short tracks in the Midwest,
converting to some of Bean’s impressive success on the smaller tracks.
“I love short track racing,?? added Bean, who finished 12th in the final
ARCA RE/MAX Series national point standings. “My racing career started off on
the smaller tracks, so I feel I’m at an advantage for the Memphis race. Even
though it’s a stand-alone event for the series, the competition will be fierce
and tough, so we have our work cut out for us, but I’m up for the challenge.??

Jeff Spraker of Spraker Racing Enterprises who guided Bean throughout much
of his freshman season in the developmental series for NASCAR will leap over
to familiar territory next weekend with the intent of pointing the team in the
right direction. “Jeff has been so influential in my career,?? remarked
Bean, who recorded his first ever ARCA pole on the demanding Salem Speedway short
track last month. “He has offered advice and guidance that really helped me
with my confidence. I really hated for our season to end because we were on
such a roll, but I really have a good feeling about the Busch race.??
Earlier this season, Bean attempted to make the CarFax 250 at Michigan
International Speedway in a Jay Robinson Racing entry. Unfortunately, the team
experienced a series of unfortunate events including an engine failure, which
kept the driver out of the starting lineup. This time, Bean is feeling better
about lurching forward. “It was important to me to gather some seat time in
the Busch car and that’s what we did. Our number one goal was to make the
Busch race and earn some respect from my fellow competitors, obstacles kept us
from doing so. I think the bugs are out the window and we’re raring to go.??
Despite having momentum on their side, the team is vigorously still looking
for sponsorship for the No. 63 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The team continues to
work around the clock offering reasonable and affordable partnerships to
companies interested of being a part of the largest form of Motorsports in the
United States.
“Sponsorship is key in racing,?? added Bean. “Our team is committed to
Memphis but we’re looking for someone to leap onboard with us and go the front. I
know we have an impressive package for the race, we’ll be a great home for a
sponsor next weekend.??
While he has no Busch starts on record, rocking into Memphis, Bean, a native
of Westby, Wisconsin has 26 ARCA RE/MAX Series starts to his resume with a
career best finish of fourth at Pocono Raceway (July 2006) and Chicagoland
Speedway (2006) while holding five additional top ten finishes at Michigan
International Speedway (July 2006 and July 2005), Talladega Superspeedway (October
2005 and October 2006) and Iowa Speedway (October 2006). He holds a career
best superspeedway time trials effort of fourth at Pocono Raceway (June 2006)
while hoisting a pole position in the short track division at Salem Speedway
(September 2006).
BlackJack Racing is still actively seeking sponsorship for next weekend’s
event. Interested parties are urged to contact the team at _Knight849@aol.com_
(mailto:Knight849@aol.com) or 608-634-4242.
Currently, the team plans to return to the ARCA RE/MAX Series full time in
2007, while adding an additional five to seven NASCAR Busch Series events to
their venue.
