Below, please find highlights from today's NHRA POWERade Series
teleconference with the championship contenders in Top Fuel and Pro
Stock Motorcycle. A complete transcript will be posted shortly on our

Tony Schumacher, on the three-way races in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro
Stock Motorcycle: "If you're a race fan and you can't enjoy this right
now, you are watching the wrong channel."

 

Brandon Bernstein, on being the hunter or the hunted: I'd much rather be
in Doug's position right now, don't get me wrong.  But, no, I think as a
points chaser, you really have nothing to lose.  You know the job at
hand and you have to go after it."    

 

Tony Schumacher, on the great points race in Top Fuel: "You're getting a
good preview of what we're going to get next year (with the Countdown to
the Championship) when they even the points out with two races to go.  I
wish they started it this year ... "  

 

Doug Kalitta, comparing piloting a plane and Top Fuel dragster: There's
really not much comparison.  Top Fuel car, initially it's like coming
out of a cannon."

 

Tony Schumacher, on the three-way race in Top Fuel: Most importantly ...
it's great for the fans right now.  It's going to give us three a heart
