Target Team Fast Facts:

Target House Visit: Sorenson, along with his Target Chip
Ganassi Racing IRL teammates Scott Dixon and Dan Wheldon, is scheduled
to visit Target House on Wed., Oct. 18. The three will spend the day
signing autographs and playing video games with residents. Funded by
Target and its vendor and celebrity partners, Target House is a unique
long-term housing facility for families with children receiving
life-saving treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(r). As
an extension of St. Jude's commitment to care for children regardless of
the family's ability to pay, Target House provides fully furnished
two-bedroom apartments, free-of-charge. St. Jude is the largest
pediatric cancer research center in the world in terms of the number of
patients enrolled in research protocols and successfully treated.

Testing 1,2,3...Sorenson, along with his Chip Ganassi Racing
with Felix Sabates teammates Casey Mears, Juan Pablo Montoya and David
Stremme, is testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) this week. The
HMS test is the final session of the NASCAR determined testing schedule
of seven tracks for 2006. Sorenson and Mears (Oct. 16 & 17), Montoya
and Stremme (Oct. 17 & 18).

*Note: Sorenson led the first session on Monday with a lap
time of 31.459 sec./171.652 mph. His teammate

Mears led the second session on Monday with a
lap time of 31.200 sec./173.077 mph.

Moving on to Martinsville: After a disastrous weekend at Lowe's
Motor Speedway (LMS) in both the NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series races,
Sorenson is hoping to repeat his previous success at Martinsville
Speedway. In two starts at the .526-mile short track Sorenson has a
12th-place effort in the NEXTEL Cup Series (Raybestos Rookie of the
Race) and a fourth-place finish in the Busch Series, both coming this
season.

Chassis: Crew Chief Jimmy Elledge and the No. 41 Target Team
have selected chassis #614 for this weekend's race at Martinsville.
This chassis is a product of Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' new
short track program developed this season. The car has previously run
at New Hampshire 1 (24th-place finish), Richmond 2 (14th) and New
Hampshire 2 (17th).

NEXTEL Cup Points Report: Sorenson and the No. 41 team dropped
one position to 25th in the overall standings after an accident
eliminated them from the last event at LMS. With a total of 2997
points, the team is only 134 points out of 20th.

Rookie Round Up: Sorenson is currently third in the Raybestos
Rookie of the Year standings with 193 points. He trails leader Denny
Hamlin by 73 points and second place Clint Bowyer by 29. Sorenson has
captured rookie of the race honors in five of the 31 races run thus far
in '06 (Atlanta - 10th, Martinsville - 12th, Michigan - fifth,
Chicagoland - seventh, Michigan 2 - eighth).

Busch Series Update: Sorenson dropped one position to 10th in
the Busch Series driver standings after his 38th-place finish in the
last event at LMS. He is only 16 points out of ninth heading into the
next event at Memphis Motorsports Park on Oct. 28. The Busch Series has
this weekend off.

Reed Sorenson on Martinsville...

"Our goal this weekend is to finish a race [smiles]. Really though,
we've had a tough month and we need a good finish to get the Target
team's morale back up and get us pointed in the right direction in the
points. There are plenty of races left for us to get back inside of the
top 20 and potentially get as high as 17th or 18th. This team is way
better than our results show, especially in the last few races. We've
had really fast cars and really bad luck. That's just the way the
season has gone. Everyone is putting in 110% and will continue to do
so until the checkered flag at Homestead. I still believe we can get a
win before the season is over.

"We had a great run at Martinsville in the spring, and an even better
run in the Busch car in July. I really like the track and we're taking
our new short track car. It's extremely hard to pass so the keys to
being successful there are qualifying up front and maintaining that
track position with some solid pit strategy. Forward bite off the
corner is also a premium if you're going to have a good run at
Martinsville."
