Airbiquity Joins Renesas Technology COMET Alliance
SEATTLE--Airbiquity, a company that develops wireless in-band modem software products, has joined the COMmunity Enabling Telematics (COMET®) alliance, a partnership program developed by Renesas Technology America, Inc., a US subsidiary of the leading semiconductor provider in the global telematics market.
Airbiquity was invited to join the COMET program as a result of the successful integration of their aqLink in-band software modem onto the Renesas SH-4A processor platform.
Airbiquity’s aqLink in-band modem software uses the voice channel of any wireless network to rapidly and reliably transport high-value and mission-critical data during the course of a wireless voice conversation. The Renesas SH-4A processor is already widely used in existing OEM navigation systems and Bluetooth hands-free kit products and is also ideal for next-generation telematics systems.
